Janez Zaletelj received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Faculty of electrical engineering, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He holds a PhD degree from the University of Ljubljana in the field of object-based video coding since 2005. Since 1999 he is with the Digital Signal Processing Lab at the University of Ljubljana, where he was involved into several multimedia-related international research projects under EU FP5 and FP6 programmes. In the FP6 project “LIVE – Live staging of media events” he was leading the research on personalization and feedback and the development of the Feedback and Recommender Systems. His research interests include intelligent video processing and recognition, and personalized interactive TV technologies and services.


He has served as a researcher and project manager on several EU-funded FP6 projects.
