Statistical data analysis
Statistical data analysis covers a support to medical research (bone marrow transplantation, histopathology etc), research in biology (complex systems) and social studies (pedagogic, disabled people etc.). It includes the monitoring and analysis of data in all stages, from data acquisition (measurement, interviews etc), sample quality control, possible population anomaly identification to parameter estimation, parametric and non-parametric hypotheses testing. The aim is to formulate problem statement and to achieve research goals based on exact data evaluation.
Statistical research work is concentrated on efficient information extracting contained in the input data. In the case of medical research, input data can not be obtained simply by sampling and the only data available is that from monitoring patient treatment. On the other side, social science research handles with data inquired by the interview. In either case, input data quality assessment, efficient data analysis and the correct interpretation of analysis results is of crucial importance.
