Currency

From January 1st 2007 the currency in Slovenia is the Euro.

Getting to / from Ljubljana

The most common way is to come by plane to Ljubljana's airport, Joze Pucnik, which is about 20 km to the north of Ljubljana. Information about flights can be found on http://www.amadeus.net/home/index.htm or http://www.lju-airport.si/eng/. There you can take a taxi to Ljubljana, which costs from 35 to 45 EUR depending on the time of day and the distance.
An alternative to taxi is a "minibus". You can find detailed information on their website. We also recommend that you make a reservation.

slovenia

If you are coming by bus or by train, the bus and the train stations are in the centre and most of the hotels are in walking distance. Anyway, there are taxis waiting outside both stations.

Getting around

Ljubljana is a small city and almost everything is in walking distance. Anyway, the best way to go around Ljubljana is to use the city buses. To use the buses (with numbers from 1 to 22) you have to buy a token (one ride) or a daily or a weekly ticket. Tokens (zeton in slovene) can be bought at post offices and some tobacco shops (not all tobacco shops) while daily and weekly tickets can be bought at LPP (the bus company) on Bavarski Dvor.
To find your way through Ljubljana you can use interactive maps. A well known one from google or Slovenian home made Najdi.si

Getting to/from the faculty

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering (Fakulteta za elektrotehniko) is located on Trzaska 25 street. In the same building there is also the Faculty of Computer and Information Science (Fakulteta za racunalnistvo in informatiko). It is in the south-west of the city, about 15 - 20 min walking distance from the city centre, where most of the hotels are located. If you want to go by bus take the number 1 (Mestni Log) or number 6 (Dolgi Most) and get off at Hajdrihova station. The faculty is just over the Trzaska street. To go back to the centre take the 1 (Vizmarje) or 6 (Crnuce) bus line.
